20th Century Fox has reportedly zeroed in on a hot up-and-coming filmmaker to direct their Fantastic Four (http://movies.ign.com/objects/879/879918.html) reboot.

Variety (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118048639) says that Josh Trank, director of the upcoming superpowers flick Chronicle (http://movies.ign.com/objects/106/106014.html), has taken a number of meetings with studio brass about helming the restart of the Marvel superheroes on the big screen.

The trade claims Fox is waiting to see how Chronicle performs at the box office before extending a formal job offer to Trank. "Internally, studio execs expect Trank to land the coveted helming gig," Variety adds.

Green Lantern's Michael Green penned the script. Akiva Goldsman is no longer involved as a producer.

Hmm ...

Controversial opinion: The last two F4 films weren't THAT bad. Could be better, but still watchable.

I rather enjoyed them actually. But that could be because I think Julian McMahon is a bad ass so I liked him as Dr. Doom.

Also I won't be seeing this film. I'm sick of quick reboots.

I think it is a little to soon for a reboot of F4 anyways. Way to soon.

That Garfield fella being Peter Parker really doesn't help either.

Or that ridiculous form fitting suit that put him in.

Also another stupid casting choice having a famous for her red hair actress dye it blond to play Gwen Stacey, nobody gives two shits about her.

Why not cast Emma Stone as Mary-Jane? Stupid. Stupid.

Well considering tobey mcguire's spider man story was supposed to be continued with spider man 4 5 and 6

Even if they had to replace Tobey, I still would have wanted to see the next chapters in that series. I hate starting over.

Now the new villain is gonna be curt conners/lizard. If spider man 4 came out, lizard would have been perfect

I don't mind Lizard as the villian. He was a pretty good villian. Kingpin would be good too as him a spidey had some feuds along with Dr. Doom. I really want carnage too. I would rather have a sequel than a reboot though.

Sequel all the way. We could have had both Lizard and Carnage in four as the villains. If you remember, Conners had a piece of the symbote.

I'm sure that was going to spawn Carnage. Four was going to be money. Fuck reboots.

out of all the reboots the only I have enjoyed so far has been Batman. Superman sucked. I hated Brandon Routh.

That wasn't actually a reboot. It's was a very poorly done sequel. The first two films did exist in that timeline.

The next one "Man of Steel" will be the reboot.

TBH I'm not a fan of the Batman series but I respect it was time for a fresh series. None of these others though needed do overs.

I do like the X-men Origins one as it feels more like a prequel than a reboot.

I think they had to reboot spider man because the director felt that it wouldn't be out on the date he had planned or tobey McGuire and Kristen dunst didn't want to do it anymore.

As for batman, the rebooted series is awesome

It is a prequel. It's part of the same series of prequels as Wolverine. They're just showing flashes of how everything came to be.

The director asked for more time and the studio should have given it to him. Each film earned nearly a billion at the box office.

You can't wait, you greedy fucks. Regardless, they could have canned the staff but hired a new one to do part four.

The series had so much potential to turn out many more stories. I can already tell I'll hate this one.

They went back to the original story of how he makes the web. I liked the natural web shooters.

X-men origins was awesome. It answered all the questions of Logan. And it was great to see gambit

The best part about Origins: Wolverine was the leaked workprint with the unfinished special effects and different music. Once I watched the Blu Ray the film lost so much.

Well its not the worst X-Men related film (that would be the Brett Ratner fuckfest that was The Last Stand) its not really worth watching and the unfinished effects gave it such a kitschy value that I loved.

I actually like the Origins movie. Of course minus 3, I've really liked all of the X-Men movies.
